On the evening of Thursday November 2, 2017 the District was notified about a concerning statement made by a faculty member at Cramer Junior High School at lunchtime with other staff members. No students were present. Superintendent, Matthew Cortez, immediately activated the District’s protocol for emergency procedures, which included calling Essexville Public Safety. Essexville Public Safety initiated their threat response plan. The teacher was immediately placed on leave in accordance with the District’s internal personnel procedures.
